The 1769-IT6 is a compact I/O Thermocouple and Milivolt input module. This module is essentially an analog input module with a built-in linearizer used in interfacing various Thermocouple types such as J, K, T, E, R, N, S, B, N, C and CJC sensor. This module may also be used to interface direct millivolt signals such as The module also accepts +/- 50mV and +/-10mv with operating range of -50 to +50mV and -10 to +10mV respectively.
This module is compatible with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix family of controllers. It may also be used with 1769-ADN DeviceNet adapter and 1769-AENTR Ethernet adapter. This module support Six (6) Thermocouple or milivolt signal sources.
Each channel has an integrated open circuit sensing, short-circuit and over and under-range sensor detection. When the channels are activated, these features are automatically activated. Input filters can also be individually configured with selections varying from 10 Hz, 50 Hz, 60 Hz, 250 Hz, 500 Hz and 1 kHz.
The module uses a removable terminal block that is shipped with the module. This terminal block has Cold Junction Compensation (CJC) terminal which is used to maintain accurate readings from each channel.
The module does not require an external power supply. It occupies a single slot in the chassis and receives 5VDC and 24VDC power from the communication bus. During startup, the module does not respond for some seconds. Until the module finishes internal memory check and memory functions, it will start to respond and report the modules status through the LED indicators. If no error is detected, the module status indicator is switched on.
