Product Overview
The 1769-OA8 is used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and 1769 CompactLogix family of controllers. The module may also be used with DeviceNet 1769-ADN and Ethernet 1769-AENTR communication adapters. It has Eight (8) 120-240 VAC solid state output channels for use with AC loads. The module Two (2) groups of Four (4) input channels. Each group has individual AC common thereby allowing mixing of 120 and 240 VAC loads.
You can configure the 1769-OA8 with RSLogix 500, RSLogix5000 or Studio 5000 programming software, depending on the controller used and firmware version. Configurable parameters available are module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. Module addressing and modules input data files can be accessed using the programming software.
The 1769-OA8 has Two (2) groups with Four (4) input points. Each group has separate AC common terminals. User may use 120VAC output on one group and 240VAC output on the other group. Additionally, it can be also used with 120VAC or 240 VAC both groups. Input group 1 are the first half of the 8 inputs 0, 1, ,2 and 3) while the remaining channels are input 4, 5, 6 and 7 which make up group 2.
The power supply distance rating of 1769-OA8 is 8 modules. It may be installed to any adjacent module including the controller. If used with MicroLogix, this module is installed after the base unit, connected by a ribbon cable to establish communication bus connection.
The module can be mounted on a 35 X 75 or 35 X 15 mm DIN rail. When installing the module, remove power from the backplane by turning off the power supply as electric arcs may occur during the locking of bus levers. The mounting surface of the module must be properly grounded by connecting to a grounding bar or a grounded metal panel.VIIIVThe 1769-OA8 is an Eight (8) channel solid state AC output module for voltage range 120 / 240VAC.
