The 1769-OF4CI is analog output module capable of producing Current signals in the form of 0-20mA and 4-20 mA. It is used with Allen Bradleys MicroLogix 1500 and CompactLogix family of controllers. It may also be used as a remote I/O device when installed with 1769-AND or 1769-AENTR, DeviceNet and Ethernet adapters respectively. The module has Four (4) differential output channels configurable for 0-20mA and 4-20 mA. With each channel installed with individual isolation.
Analog outputs are used drive modulating actuators and devices allowing multiple points and control and increased accuracy and precision. The module has a built-in Digital to Analog converter that converts the Digital data format stored in the CPU to Analog signal. Data formats are configured using RSLogix500 when used with a MicroLogix500 controller, RSLogix5000 or Studio5000programming software when used with CompactLogix controller. Data formats are defined to characterize the output of the controller according to its external use. Data formats available are Raw / Proportional data, Engineering unit, Scaled for PID and Percent full range. Other important parameters offered by the module include enabling of channels, output range selection, module inhibition, module description and slot assignment. The module generates a unique data table for each instance of installation where the channel addresses, module mode bits, module state and other runtime parameters.
The module does not require calibration. Auto-calibration is performed by the module every power cycle or with a user defined instruction downloaded to the module. The module also performs self-test in every power cycle. During self-test, the module may not indicate anything until the completion of the self-test. Once in active operation, every new value in the output module is compared to the high and low clamp settings. High and low clamps prevent the analog output from exceeding the set limits.
Install as many 1769-OF4CI as required in a MicroLogix 1500 controller or CompactLogix chassis with reference to the power supply distance rating of 8 modules. More advanced CompactLogix processor may support more than 16-30 module in the local chassis. Should more than 8 instances of 1769-OF4CI is needed, an appropriate system or bank power supply is required.
The module can be inserted to any adjacent I/O module including the controller in the chassis. Install the module by locating the guide slots of the adjacent module. Slide the module and establish alignment of the bus connectors. Once bus connectors are aligned, move the bus lever to the left until a clicking sound is created. VIIIVThe 1769-OF4CI is compact I/O analog output module. It has Four (4) isolated channels capable of sending current output signals in the form of 0-20mA and 4-20 mA. The output signals may be used to drive modulating actuators and devices.
