The 1769-OW16 is a Compact I/O module compatible with Sixteen (16) relay type outputs. This module is typically used to drive AC and DC loads. This type of module supports separate voltage source per group as the output groups are individually isolated.
The 1769-OW16 has Two (2) Output groups with 8 channels per group. Each channel is capable of 2.5 A while the module itself is rated 20A. The module connects to the communication bus of the CompactLogix or MicroLogix. The communication bus also carries the supply voltage that powers the Compact I/O module. It occupies single slot in the chassis of either controller system.
When used with MicroLogix 1500 as expansion I/O, the module is installed after the base unit or to any adjacent Compact I/O. Only Compact I/O modules are supported by MicroLogix 1500. If used with CompactLogix system, the module is installed as a local or expansion I/O. It is inserted to the communication by by installing to an adjacent I/O module and locking the bus levers. Utilize RSLogix 500 when used with MicroLogix, RSLogix 5000 or Studio 5000 when used with CompactLogix system.
The module has fine tuning parameters that are accessible in any of the programming software. These parameters include module inhibition, packet interval, slot assignment and revision number. Detailed configuration is performed by accessing the modules input data files. The data files store the status of the input addresses as well as module diagnostics.
Use single conductor wire type Cu-90°C (194°F) with nominal size range of #14 to #22 AWG. For stranded wires, use Cu-90°C (194°F) with wire size range of #16 to #22 AWG.
