The Allen-Bradley 22B-E4P2C104 is a PowerFlex 40 Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) used to implement speed regulation with sensorless vector control or field oriented control. This feature allows high-torque with the entire drive speed range.
This drive features a voltage input rating of 3-phase, 460 to 600 VAC, Output current of 4.2 Amperes and power of 2.2 Kilowatt or 3.0 Horsepower.
It is shipped with an integrated IGBT brake and fixed keypad as indicated by the part number. IGBT breaking enables dynamic breaking thus, eliminating the need of an external braking resistor. The fixed keypad enables out of the box configuration. This drive also has an filtered emission.
This drive has an integrated RS485 communication protocol which enables fast integration to an HMI, SCADA or controller. Premiere integration is used with Studio5000 Logix designer. Using the instructions embedded with the software, the drive may be controlled and configured directly from the PLC and modify settings even in runtime. The drive also supports communication protocols such as Profibus, Ethernet, DH+, RS232 and other protocols by installing communication adapters.
It also has an embedded I/O for implementing conventional control using hardwiring. These I/Os are composed of fixed and programmable discrete inputs, Opto and Form C outputs, Analog Input and Analog output.
The drive has an integrated protection circuit however, it is recommended to condition the incoming connections to the drive with the installation of line filters, signal conditioners, overload protections. The drive also generates a considerable amount of heat. Ensure proper ventilation and spacing when installing the unit.
