The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T10C4A8 is a PanelView Plus 6 terminal that is ideal for use in large applications in wide variety of industries. This HMI may be used to monitor and control single to a number of machine and process as it is built with advanced HMI features.
This specific product is a PanelView Plus 1000 from Allen-Bradley. It features a relatively large screen size, having a diagonal measurement of 10.4 inches. It also has a combination input interface through the integrated Keypad and Touch input interface. The keypad is made of 32 Functions keys, F1 through F16 and K1 through K16. These keys are programmable for a variety of functions accepting local and global functions. They may be used to trigger commands, sequences and other functions. The Touchscreen input interface is 8-wire analog resistive components layered with the screen to enable touch screen feature. Both these input interfaces are capable of 1 million actuations.
With a Keypad assembly, it is a good practice to dedicate a button that will function as a global function button and a local function button. Global functions include alarm acknowledgement, screen navigation, system log-in, utilities, runtime stop, data-log start, recipe edit and other function.
Local functions are screen-dependent function. One button may have multiple assignments with reference to the screen. This could be start, stop, on, off, process initiate or change sequence and other specific commands. As this HMI device supports external peripherals, mouse actions may also be defined in parallel to the keypad or touch action configured.
