Product Overview
The Allen-Bradley 2711P-T10C4D8 is a PanelView Plus 6 terminal that features a scalable and software configurable hardware Human Machine Interface (HMI) device. It is compatible for use in a variety of processes in different existing and emerging industries. It is typically installed in the machine or process level area but may be also used as a remote HMI installed in the supervisory level.
This HMI has embedded Ethernet communication by way of an RJ45 port and a DH485 port using a 3-wire conductor. The RS232 is a D-Sub 9 Pin connector for point to point connection. These ports are independent from each other thus, can be operated at the same time. They can communicate to different controllers across the factory without having any conflict to the terminal.
Ethernet is most popular as most modern controllers are designed with this port embedded especially in the era of industry 4.0, Internet of Things. DH485 is slowly becoming an obsolete protocol as it is a proprietary and proprietary protocols require special hardware or tools to make them join a network of devices. RS232 is still a steady and reliable communication protocol. If the embedded communication ports are not compatible to existing networks, the PanelView Plus may be attached with a communication adapter.
This HMI is fitted with a colored screen measuring 10.4 inches. The operator input area for this HMI is a touch screen assembly touchscreen is capable a million actuations.
