The 1761-NET-AIC by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation is an Advanced Interface Converter (AIC). It has a 24 Volt DC power source requirement of 20.4 to 28.8 Volts DC and a 24 Volt DC current draw of 120 milliAmps (typical) and 200 milliAmps for its maximum inrush current. It has three ports as follows: RS-232 D Shell (Port 1), RS-232 Mini-Din (Port 2), and RS-485 Connector (Port 3). This hardware has an internal isolation of 500 Volts DC for one minute and an operating ambient temperature of 0 to 60 degrees Celsius. The storage temperature for the 1761-NET-AIC is between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. Agency certifications for this hardware include the following: UL 1604, C-UL C22.2 No. 213, Class I Division 2 Groups A,B,C,D.
For mounting this device to a DIN rail, the manufacturer recommends a series of steps to follow for proper installation. First, mount the DIN rail in the designated area. Next, snap the latch on the DIN rail into the closed position. Once this is complete, hook the top slot on the converter over the DIN rail. Finally, snap the converter into position while pressing the converter against the rail. In the case of removing the converter from the DIN rail, it is recommended that the operator use a screwdriver to pry downward on the DIN rail latch (at the bottom of the converter) until the converter is released from the DIN rail. For panel mounting with the converter, first remove the mounting template on the backside of the manual. Next, secure the template to the surface the installer will mount to. After this is complete, drill holes through the template and remove the mounting template. Once this is done, the unit can be mounted.VIIIVThe 1761-NET-AIC by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation is an Advanced Interface Converter (AIC).
