The 1761-NET-ENI by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation has messaging and email operating modes. For messaging, the controller can be accessed from other devices on EtherNet when the ENI is connected to a programmable controller. It can also initiate communications to other EtherNet/IP devices. With regard to email, the ENI supports SMTP mail service, allowing a controller to send email messages to any email address on the network. Email may be used to initiate the transmission of data or status information. The 1761-NET-ENI is compatible with all MicroLogix, SLC, CompactLogix, FlexLogix, and ControlLogix controllers, which support DF1 Full-Duplex on an available RS-232 port. This hardware also supports personal computers using the RSLinx DF1 Full-Duplex driver. Other DF1 Full-Duplex compliant products containing at least one RS-232 port are also supported. Lastly, this hardware supports usage with RSLinx Ethernet Driver.
Physical specifications for this hardware include a 24 Volt DC power source requirement of 20.4 to 26.4 Volts DC and a 24 Volt DC current draw of 50 milliAmps (typical) and 100 milliAmps maximum. The maximum inrush current for the 1761-NET-ENI is 200 milliAmps, with internal isolation being 710 Volts DC for one minute. Operating ambient temperature is between 0 and 60 degrees Celsius and storage temperature is between -40 and 85 degrees Celsius. Humidity is 5% to 95% (non-condensing). Radiated and Conducted Emissions has a rating of EN 50081-2, Class A. To mount this device onto a DIN rail, first safely mount the DIN rail. Next, snap the latch on the DIN rail into the closed position. Once this is complete, hook the top slot of the device over the DIN rail. Finally, while pressing the 1761-NET-ENI against the DIN rail, snap the device into its proper position.VIIIVThe 1761-NET-ENI by Allen-Bradley and Rockwell Automation is a MicroLogix Ethernet Interface (ENI).
