The 1794-AENT is a Flex IO Ethernet adapter that is used to connect a Flex IO rack to an Ethernet Network. This module is a DIN rail mounted device, supporting half duplex 10 to 100 Mbit data transmission speed, utilization of Ethernet messages encapsulated within TCP / UDP / IP protocol.
This module is compatible has a local I/O capacity of 8 Flex I/O modules of any combination. It has a single Ethernet communication port that can be interfaced with an RJ45 Cat. 5 or Cat.6 cable.
This module has built-in indicators for to indicate module status, network status and link status. All LEDs shall lit Green to indicate normal operation.
The modules Ip address may be configured in Three (3) ways - using the thumbwheel switches, through the BootP configuration software or by retrieving a previously set address from the non-volatile memory.
The module is shipped with a default address of 999 and DHCP enabled. The digits on the thumbwheel represent that last Three (3) digits of the IP address such as 192.168.1.XXX. The default subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 and gateway address is set to 0.0.0.0.
When using the BootP software, the modules MAC address must be identified. The MAC address is printed on the sticker located at the side of the module. BootP tool is a free software from Allen-Bradley that is used to set IP addresses of Ethernet Enabled devices. This module also support 3rd party BootP software.
This module is compatible for use with CompactLogix and ControlLogix software, even with legacy controller platforms such as PLC5 and SLC500 systems. In some programming software, this module may be configured as a generic module.
VIIIVThe 1794-AENT is a communication module used with 1794 Flex IO product Family. It enables Ethernet connectivity through the integrated Ethernet communication port. This module supports DIN rail or panel mounting.
