Product Overview
The 1794-OA8 is a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) hardware that is used to energize or activate electrical components or Final Control Elements (FCE). This electronic hardware is a Discrete output module that has a built-in Eight (8) output channels rated 120VAC. It belongs to the Flex IO product family that is typically used to implement distributed IO solution in the industry. It may also be used with a FlexLogix Controller or a Flex IO Local extender module (1794-FLA).
The 1794 OA8 is used with any of the compatible terminal bases such as1794-TBN, 1794-TBNF, 1794-TB2, 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TBKD, 1794-TBNK, 1794-TBNFK, 1794-TB3K, 1794-TB3SK. Only One (1) terminal base is used per module. The terminal base allows attachment to a DIN rail or mounting plate and provides wire terminals for the input signals and power wiring. It also house the keyswitch that should be position to number When installing this module, the keyswitch must be at position 8 when installing the module.
This module operates at a Voltage category of 74-132VAC, with a nominal Voltage output of 120VAC. Output devices should also be within this voltage category to be operated direct. In situations where different voltage category exists, an interposing relay may be used.
When attaching the module to the Flex IO chassis, this module connects to an adjacent module, including the Flex IO adapter or FlexLogix controller to establish connection to the backplane. It requires 80 mA @ 5V DC power from the Flexbus to energize the modules electronic circuitry. Use a 1.6 A, 250V AC slow-blow fuse one each output. Recommended fuses are Littelfuse 23901.6 and San-O SD6-1.6. If used with Terminal base 1794-TBNF, internal fusing is included.VIIIVThe 1794-OA8 is a Flex IO Eight (8) channel 120VAC Discrete output module.
