 Product Overview

The 2711P-RP9D is a PanelView Plus 6 Component that is used as a Logic Module. This module is Marine certified and features internal memory of 512MB Flash Memory and 512MB Random Access Memory (RAM), Two (USB, One (1) Ethernet and One (1) Serial communication port. It also has a Windows CE 6.0 Extended that enables file viewer tools for Microsoft office files including a WordPad editor.

This Logic Module is prepared with a FactoryTalk Machine Edition runtime which runs the downloaded projects and provides a virtual workspace for the operator’s monitoring and control activities. It also include RSLinx enterprise where partner controller shortcuts are defined to access tag folder that hold the addresses need to be accessed by the operator terminal.

The firmware up this device may be upgraded through the firmware upgrade tool called the firmware flash. As firmware gets updated or upgraded, specific features are enabled even software patches are applied. Firmware flashing may be done through the USB port, serial or Ethernet port.

When flashing the firmware of this device, it is important to secure a stable connection or a power source that will not get interrupted. This is due to the fact that once firmware flashing started or when firmware is being sent to the hardware, any interruption will turn the device useless or sometimes termed as “bricked”. To ensure no interruption when performing flashing, an Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) may be used. For communication, make a direct communication as mush as possible without adapter or converters in between. VIIIVThe 2711P-RP9D is a logic module for PanelView Plus 6 Operator Terminals. It is an add-on module with integrated memory of 512 MB Flash Memory, 512 MB Random Access Memory (RAM) and Windows CE software.
