Product Overview
The 1794-ID2 is a Two (2) channel incremental encoder module that is compatible for use with Flex IO product family. It is capable of high-speed and accurate pulse counting from pulse generating instruments or incremental encoders. This module is compatible for use with incremental encoders that provides 1 or 2 pulse train outputs.
The 1794-ID2 is an intelligent module that features Two (2) Pulse transmitter, with Four (4) optocoupled inputs. This is especially used with transmitters that has complementary and non-complementary signals. The pulse inputs are designed to accept signal with frequency up to 100KHz. The modules is used primarily for counting, positioning, and speed computation. Typical module application includes shaft speed monitoring of turbines, automative paint booths, flow monitoring in Brewery process for totalization, Petrochemical flow and custody transfer metering applications for accurate billing of produced and supplied products.
This module also features an integral Two (2) Up/Down counters for use with counting applications.
This module requires a terminal base to function. Compatible terminal base include 1794-TB3, 1794-TB3S, 1794-TBN and 1794-TBNF. It is powered through the Flexbus connections and requires a current of 0mA @5VDC. It has built-in LED status indicators to indicate Power status and Twelve (12) Yellow status indicators that indicate the logic side.
This module requires a minimum stable pulse width of 2 micro-seconds to be considered valid signal. This built-in signal filter prevents false triggering and contributes in providing an accurate measurement or representation of the variable being measured.
This module is compatible with any Flex IO communication adapters for implementing distributed IO solution.
